PETA responds to Tiffany Haddish's vow to wear fur till 'police stop killing black people'

PETA responded to Tiffany Haddish after the comedian said she wold wear animal fur every day until "the police stop killing black people."

PETA is urging Tiffany Haddish to rethink her form of protesting after she called out the animal rights organization in a video.

The comedian, 39, began an Instagram video last week with a story about how she snagged a new fur vest from a fan who attended one of her comedy shows.

"She wasn't really planning on it, but she said she loved me," Haddish said. "And I said, 'if you really love me, give me your jacket.' And she did."

The video took a turn as Haddish vowed to "wear this as much as possible."

"I don't know if you know this about me, but I'm about to start protesting," she said. "I'm going to wear fur every day until they stop killing black people. When the police stop killing black people, I'll stop wearing fur. It's my new protest. So sorry PETA (People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals), don't be mad at me, be mad at the police."

She continued: "See how that go? Because people are important. And so are the animals – to keep me warm."

PETA later replied to Haddish in the comments, urging her to reconsider.

"We love you, Tiffany, and as an animal rights organization, we advocate for and believe in kindness towards all, including animals," the organization commented. "We hope that you choose to protest in a different way that doesn't harm any humans or any animals, but is kind to all."

PETA's response comes just days after Haddish made headlines for bombing a set on New Year's Eve.

“This is weird for me. This is going to be on TMZ,” she said onstage after forgetting her material.

“No more shoulda, woulda, couldas. None of that. You know what? It happened the way it happened. This will probably be the only time you will ever see me like this. Because I’m never doing this again,” she told the crowd, before drinking from what looked like a bottle of alcohol.

After the show, Haddish tweeted that she wished "it was better."

“I prayed on it and I have a strong feeling this will never happened (sic) again.”
