Person stabbed in face and back at North Highlands shopping center

(FOX40.COM) — One person is the hospital and another is in jail after a stabbing in a shopping center parking lot in the North Highlands area on Friday morning, according to the Sacramento County Sheriff’s Office.

According to the sheriff’s office, an employee at one of the stores confronted a homeless person in the parking lot and was trying to have them leave.

A physical altercation began between the homeless person, the store employee and two people who were uninvolved but were trying to help, according to the sheriff’s office.

One of the uninvolved people was stabbed by the homeless person in the back and in the face. That person was hospitalized and is expected to survive.

The suspect was later arrested and booked in the Sacramento County Jail.
