In response to the Jan. 4 shooting at Perry High School, Perry Economic Development and local utility partners have come together to support those impacted.

The Perry Strong Community Fund is a newly established initiative designed to provide flexible funding specifically focused on the needs of Perry students. This program aims to offer project funding support during this challenging time for the youth in Perry.

“We are grateful to announce four generous grants totaling $6,000 from Minburn Communications, Aureon, Guthrie County REC and the Iowa Area Development Group Foundation to help launch the Perry Strong Community Fund," said Jeff Huitt, Perry Economic Development President. "These grants, alongside matching donations from other local partners, will provide recourse to initiate and support this important effort.”

The seed funding from the contributions will play a key role in encouraging further philanthropic support for school betterment projects. Projects supported by the Perry Strong Community Fund will focus on protecting students, fostering a positive school environment and strengthening the rural community.
