Perry’s Ice Cream, Southern Tier to release second summertime collaboration

BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) — Two local companies are teaming up once again for a summer drink for those 21 years old and older. Akron-based ice cream manufacturer Perry’s Ice Cream and Lakewood-based brewery Southern Tier will be launching their “Orange Twist” flavor beer this summer.

Last year, the companies debuted their first collaboration — Vanilla Scoop — and after the flavor’s success, decided on having another go at it this year.

According to Southern Tier, Orange Twist will also be an 8.6% alcohol by volume imperial ale, with notes of orange sherbet swirled with Perry’s signature vanilla ice cream flavor.

The beer will be on tap at Southern Tier’s five Taproom locations and will hit shelves at retailers in New York, Pennsylvania and Ohio.
