Comment period extended for Cibola National Forest project

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (KRQE) – Scoping comments are still being accepted for the proposed North Sandia Fuels Reduction Project in the Cibola National Forest and National Grasslands. The proposal is to restore, maintain, and improve forested conditions on approximately 2,956 acres in the Sandia Ranger District, Sandoval and Bernalillo Counties, Sandia Mountains, and north of I-40.

The scoping period began on April 3 and based on public feedback, the district is extending the public comment period through Friday, June 21, 2024.
