Peoria man killed, two others seriously injured in accident with semi
A Peoria man was killed late Sunday in an accident with a semi-truck along Interstate 80 near the Illinois-Iowa border.
The Scott County Sheriff's Office said that Eric Fraelle, 52, was killed when his 2024 Chevrolet Trax was rear-ended by a semi-truck, forcing the vehicle into a ditch while the two were driving eastbound along I-80 at mile marker 288 1/2. The incident occurred around 9:41 p.m. Fraelle was found dead at the scene.

Two other passengers were with Fraelle in the vehicle — 52-year-old Heather Fraelle and a 16-year-old boy. Both were transported to Genesis Medical Center East in Davenport, Iowa, with serious injuries. The 32-year-old driver of the semi was uninjured in the crash.
The sheriff's office and Iowa State Patrol are investigating the crash.
