Peoria company keeps growing with another purchase, adds employees

PEORIA - MH Equipment Company has again expanded.

The Peoria-based company recently acquired Armor Equipment, a St. Louis-based dealer of refuse equipment and equipment for street and sewer maintenance. The company represents Heil, Tymco, Sewer Equipment of America, Wastequip Galbreath along with several other manufacturers.

Armor Equipment's staff of 25 people became employees of MH Equipment Company on Nov. 1. The company will continue normal operations as Armor Equipment out of its locations in Arnold, Missouri, and Olathe, Kansas.

Earlier this month, MH Equipment announced that it had acquired Mid-Iowa Solid Waste Co. Inc., a company that sells and services environmental equipment to municipal, contractor, and business customers across Iowa and Nebraska.

With its corporate headquarters in Peoria, MH Equipment Company has 33 service locations across 10 states and has just over 1,100 employees, 550 of them service technicians. MH Equipment began in 1952 as a single Hyster dealership in Peoria and is now among the largest and fastest-growing material handling service providers in the U.S.
