Elected and Appointed

Montgomery McCracken Walker & Rhoads partner Michael J. Fekete was named government relations chair of the International Council of Shopping Centers for southern New Jersey. ICSC’S mission is to ensure the retail real estate industry is broadly recognized for the integral role it plays in the social, civic and economic vibrancy of communities across the globe.

Weisbrod Matteis & Copley counsel Joe Khan was inducted as a fellow of the Litigation Counsel of America. Khan, who works in the firm’s Philadelphia office, prosecutes complex civil claims against multinational corporations. He is presently suing 10 of the world’s largest pharmaceutical companies for their alleged roles in the American opioid epidemic.

Stuart T. O’Neal, Burns White executive committee member, was appointed to the board of directors of The Sherman Foundation. The foundation assists those in crisis from opioid dependency, and its related aftermath, as well as veterans who suffer from post-traumatic stress disorder. In addition, the foundation supports and provides feedback into Cumberland County’s Opioid Intervention Court that focuses on immediate detox and recovery options for first-time offenders. O’Neal is a trial attorney based out of the firm’s Philadelphia-area and Wilkes-Barre offices.

Honored

The Pennsylvania Bar Association presented awards that recognize outstanding leadership in the legal profession and extraordinary service and long-standing membership in the association. Those honorees include: Desiree A. Brougher, Pennsylvania Association of Realtors, PBA President’s Award for her work on the Good Governance Task Force assuring that the pathway to PBA leadership positions was well understood by PBA members. Jerome T. Foerster, 50-Year Member Award. Jonathan D. Koltash, Pennsylvania Department of Health, PBA President’s Award for his willingness to provide compelling and relevant input to PBA leadership and efforts in making hard leadership choices and implementing ideas quickly. Judge Kathy M. Manderino, Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board, PBA President’s Award for her work as chair of the Good Governance Task Force assuring that the pathway to PBA leadership positions was well understood by PBA members. Leonard Tintner, Boswell, Tintner & Piccola, PBA President’s Award for his work on the Good Governance Task Force assuring that the pathway to PBA leadership positions was well understood by PBA members.

Additions

Lindsay Andreuzzi joined Kutak Rock in its litigation practice group. Andreuzzi is a lawyer who specializes in insurance law. She focuses her litigation practice on advising and defending personal, commercial and surplus line insurers in complex insurance coverage matters and allegations of bad faith claims handling. She has a background in bad faith law in Pennsylvania and New Jersey.

Cohen Seglias Pallas Greenhall & Furman added Timothy Furin to the firm as a partner in the government contracting group. Furin will counsel contractors of all sizes on a wide range of government procurement matters, including bid protests, contract claims and appeals, suspension and debarment matters, Other Transaction Authorities (OTAs), and subcontract negotiations and disputes. He brings experience before the U.S. Government Accountability Office, the Armed Services Board of Contract Appeals, the U.S. Court of Federal Claims as well as various other federal and state courts.
