People Are Losing Their Minds Over This Candy Cane Pizza

Twitter has given us plenty of vomit-inducing food combos over the last few months. Cheese-topped toaster pastries (not Pop-Tarts, get it right) and candy corn pizza both went viral, so we knew it couldn't be long before some holiday-themed atrocity showed up.

Behold, the candy cane pizza. Arguably the worst holiday candy of all, candy canes really shouldn't be anywhere but hanging on a Christmas tree, and they definitely don't belong on God's gift to the world, pizza. That didn't stop someone from making it happen, though.

David Sanchez posted the candy cane and Santa candy-topped pizza to Twitter on December 2, with the caption "'Tis the season...to be jolly, my dudes. (An @TheRealAsswolf tribute, with an @DiGiornoPizza contribute)." He gave credit to the creator of the candy corn pizza, as well as the frozen pizza brand underneath all the candy.

The candy canes did a surprisingly good job melting, and the result is a bunch of Santas that look like they're drowning in a candy cane lake. The tweet has since been liked 1,500 times, and amassed hundreds of hilarious responses from Twitter users who were not so into the idea.

Even DiGiorno put in their two cents:

Sanchez told radio station 101WKQX he got the idea from the candy corn pizza, and was waiting until December to try it out. And while did eat some of the pizza, his thoughts confirm what we all knew to be true ... it's gross. "Well, uh, never again," he joked to the station. "But I think everyone should try it."

In case you're still not over the pineapple pizza debate, you can add a point to the pro pineapple column - DiGiorno's Twitter poll shows it's at least a more popular topping than candy corn and candy canes.
