People Gather on Beach As South of France Wildfires Force Evacuations

Thousands of tourists and residents in the Provence-Alpes-Côte d’Azur region evacuated the area throughout the night of Tuesday, July 25, as firefighters tried to contain a wildfire burning near Bormes-les-Mimosas.

Local newspaper Var-Matin reported that at least 3,000 people camping on the Cap Benat peninsula were evacuated as the wildfire spread to over 800 acres.
