Pensacola recycling center to close this week ahead of possible storms

PENSACOLA, Fla. (WKRG) — Ahead of rounds of storms possible through Saturday, a Pensacola recycling center is closing.

City officials say the monitored recycling drop-off site at 2759 North Palafox Street will be closed on Saturday, May 18.

RECYCLING CENTER LOCATION:

The closure is reportedly due to, “inclement weather.”

According to a press release, the site which is open on Saturdays barring inclement weather and holiday weekends, is monitored by city staff in order to deter illegal dumping of nonrecyclable materials, provide sorting assistance, and educate residents on proper recycling.

The site is supposed to reopen next Saturday, May 25.
