Pensacola man arrested accused of aggravated manslaughter involving death of 1-year-old: ECSO

ESCAMBIA COUNTY, Fla. (WKRG) — Escambia County deputies arrested a Pensacola man on Thursday in connection with the death of a 1-year-old child.

According to an ECSO Facebook post, deputies responded to Shoal Creek Drive for a cardiac arrest involving a 1-year-old child.

INCIDENT LOCATION:

Investigation revealed 21-year-old Marc Anthony Basulto was in his home with his two children when he put his 1-year-old in a bathtub with the water running. He reportedly then took medication and went to sleep in another room.

About two hours later, Basulto was awakened by the other child crying, and then he found the 1-year-old child unresponsive in the bathtub, which was full and overflowing.

The 1-year-old child was taken to a local hospital where he was pronounced dead.

Basulto was arrested and taken to the Escambia County Jail. He is charged with aggravated manslaughter involving the death of a child.
