“It takes only a few minutes to register to vote, and I urge every eligible Pennsylvanian who is not yet registered to do so before the April 8 deadline,” Schmidt said. “Once you are registered, you can then exercise your fundamental right to vote and let your voice be heard in the upcoming primary election.”

In the primary election Democrats will receive a Democratic Party ballot and Republicans will receive a Republican Party ballot. Independents and registered third-party voters can not participate in the primary but can consider any candidates in the November general election.

Races on the primary ballot this year include U.S. Senate, U.S. House of Representatives, Attorney General, Treasurer, Auditor General, State House, and State Senate.

Voters can request a mail-in or absentee ballot online before the April 16, 5 p.m. deadline.
