PennDOT to present plans to replace Creamery Bridge. Give your feedback
The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation will soon replace the nearly century-old Creamery Bridge over Tohickon Creek, but before proceeding, it wants to update residents and gather feedback during a live virtual public meeting.
PennDOT will give a brief presentation during that meeting. Afterward, PennDOT engineers will have a Q&A session.
What to know about Creamery Bridge replacement project
Built in 1932, the Creamery Bridge, which goes over Tohickon Creek in Bedminster and Tinicum townships, was only initially capable of handling a single lane of traffic, according to PennDOT's Creamery Road over Tohickon Creek Bridge Improvement Project website.
"The existing bridge is in poor condition due to the deteriorated condition of the bridge deck, superstructure, and substructure (masonry piers and abutments)," read a portion of the website for the project.
PennDOT plans for the:
removal and replacement of the existing structure;
installation of guide rail along each approach;
improvements to drainage;
improvements to substandard roadway geometry along either approach; and
relocation of aerial utility lines.
