EYEWITNESS NEWS (WBRE/WYOU) — With spring nearing, PennDOT is already looking ahead to the summer season.

On Tuesday, District 4 announced they have numerous openings for internships and part-time jobs. Salaries start at nearly $17 an hour.

There are immediate openings for highway maintenance workers, semi-skilled laborers, and transportation equipment operators throughout six area counties.

Summer internships are paid and a great opportunity to see what opportunities lie ahead after graduation.

“If they are engineering interns, they can work here over the summer and see if they like engineering science and see where they want to go,” said Human Resource Officer Carl Kmiec.

To learn more about summer hiring opportunities you can attend an employment open house event this spring.

It will be May 8 from 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. at the District 4 office in Dunmore.
