Pediatric urgent care, Peds Now, opens second location in Pooler

Pooler's fifth urgent care held its grand opening and ribbon cutting on May 14, but one thing sets this one apart from the others - it specializes in pediatric care.

Peds Now at 2321 Pooler Parkway is the franchise's second location, the first is in Hinesville.

"This is a long time coming, and this is a premiere location," said the co-owner and one of the doctors for the facility, Philip Ajayi. "We find a need, and what we do what we can to fill the gap in pediatric healthcare delivery. Our location in Hinesville has done amazingly well and it's just time for us to spread it all over."

Peds Now offers an array of services for kids, which can be found here. Ayaji said it's important for them to be available for parents and kids where other urgent cares can't.

"The Pooler area is exploding, there are so many parents around here and we're well positioned to take care of those kids and grow with them," Ayaji said.

Pooler has experienced rapid growth in the last decade, increasing at a rate of 5% annually, with a population of about 30,000 people currently. The population is expected to double in the next five years with the growth of West Chatham and developments such as the Hyundai Metaplant in Ellabell bringing more people to the surrounding areas.

"Five is not a lot when you think about how fast Pooler is going to grow, but they'll be established and ready and able to service the community and influx of new people," said Courtney Rawlins, the president of the Pooler Chamber of Commerce. "We're really proud of the businesses that seek out Pooler to provide a service, and the fact that we're going to have a business that specializes in pediatric care is really special."
