Pedestrian hit & injured as vehicle backs out of Oshkosh driveway, driver cooperating

OSHKOSH, Wis. (WFRV) – An 89-year-old pedestrian who was walking on a sidewalk in Oshkosh was hit and injured by a vehicle that was backing out of a driveway on Wednesday.

According to the Oshkosh Police Department, the incident happened around 1:35 p.m. on March 13 in the 300 Block of North Westhaven Drive in Oshkosh.

Officers say that an 89-year-old was walking on the sidewalk when a vehicle, driven by a 78-year-old woman, backed out into the roadway and hit the pedestrian.

The pedestrian was transported to a local hospital with significant injuries and the driver of the vehicle is reportedly cooperating with the investigation, which is still ongoing.
