Pedestrian dies from injuries after hit by truck

Apr. 30—HIGH POINT — A man who was hit by a tractor-trailer on Martin Luther King Jr. Drive two weeks ago has died of his injuries.

Allan Sori, 56, of Greensboro, was struck by a tractor-trailer just after 8:30 a.m. April 16 in the 3800 block of MLK Drive.

He died at an area hospital this past Saturday, the High Point Police Department announced on Tuesday.

Investigators spoke to multiple witnesses and gathered video evidence and determined that Sori intentionally jumped into the path of the eastbound truck, the High Point Police Department said Tuesday.

Police said that no charges will be filed.

This was the fourth traffic fatality for the city of High Point in 2024.
