Pedestrian crash leads to serious injuries in Northwest El Paso

UPDATE: Police say 66-year-old Argelia Luzina Benavides was struck and killed when she failed use a designated crosswalk and failed to yield the right of way to a car driving down the street.

Police say the driver of the car was unable to avoid hitting her and remained on the scene.

EL PASO, Texas (KTSM) — Serious injuries have been reported in a crash involving a vehicle and a pedestrian in Northwest El Paso, according to El Paso Police.

The crash happened along the 1700 block of Northwestern on Friday morning, May 3. Special Traffic Investigators, which respond to serious or fatal crashes, are looking into what led up to crash.

Police have not said who or how many people have been injured.
