Pebble Hills expected to hire Chapin’s Ryan Warner as next head football coach

EL PASO, Texas (KTSM) – After a lengthy search process, Pebble Hills High School is expected to hire Chapin’s Ryan Warner as its next head coach to replace Mark Torres, sources told KTSM on Tuesday.

A Chapin alumnus, Warner spent the last four seasons in charge at his alma mater, going 22-17 with one playoff victory back in 2021. He is expected to be officially introduced at Pebble Hills in the coming weeks.

Warner worked with Torres at Franklin High School a few years ago, so it makes some sense for him to move into the spot vacated by Torres’ move to Buda Hays in the Austin region.

Warner will now take over what many people believe is the best high school job in El Paso in time for the 2024 campaign.

Sources told KTSM that current Chapin defensive coordinator Marco Chavez, as well as former Americas High School head coach Patrick Melton could be in the running to replace Warner. The vacancy at Chapin could also be highly sought after, give the talent the Huskies return, including junior Division I prospect Daveon Singleton.
