Take a Peek at the Grand Estate Where the Royal Family Spends Christmas
While we prepare to head to Aunt Margie’s (hey, that’s what mulled wine is for), the royal family is heading to their traditional Christmas outpost: Sandringham Estate in King’s Lynn, Norfolk, England.
Queen Elizabeth has been going to Sandringham since she was a child and it’s a family tradition so exclusive that before Meghan Markle married Prince Harry she was the first nonroyal to ever be invited. Let’s see what all the fuss is about, shall we?

Did we mention there are 60 acres of lush gardens? Plenty of opportunities for long walks when family time gets to be too much…if that happens with the royals.
Queen Lilibet has visited the estate every Christmas of her entire life. Here she is giving her first Christmas broadcast to the nation from Sandringham House in 1952.
Prince William and Prince Harry came here as children, too.
When visiting Sandringham now, Prince William, Kate Middleton and their royal brood stay in this ten-bedroom guesthouse called Anmer Hall. Fun fact: Princess Diana was actually born in this house.
