PeaceHealth opening new Lynden clinic in April, with an environmental design certification in hand

Officials from nonprofit health system PeaceHealth have announced an opening date for a new clinic opening in Lynden. The announcement comes as the clinic’s design has earned an environmental certification.

The new primary and specialty care clinic will open its doors Monday, April 15 at 8844 Benson Rd., according to a March 29 news release from PeaceHealth.

“The opening caps off several years of planning and construction and will bring much-needed services to residents of Lynden and other areas of north and east Whatcom County,” the news release states.

The new 22,500-square-foot clinic has enough space to care for 150 to 200 patients daily, and will have a team of 50 caregivers and providers.

Current providers at PeaceHealth’s Lynden OB/GYN and orthopedics clinics at 1610 Grove St. will relocate to the new facility.

The new clinic will house family medicine, same-day services, behavioral health, orthopedics, midwifery and cardiology, as well as on-site imaging and lab services in partnership with Mount Baker Imaging and Quest Diagnostics.

“We are thrilled to open this beautiful facility, and excited to help meet the healthcare needs of our north Whatcom County communities. We recognize how rapidly the area is growing and we want to ensure the community has access to high-quality primary and specialty care for many years to come,” Denise Walker, vice president of operations for PeaceHealth Medical Group, Northwest network, stated in the news release.

The new facility will also be the first PeaceHealth clinic with Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design certification, as the facility includes solar panels, EV charging, native plants and a bioswale stormwater runoff system, according to the news release.

The clinic is hosting a community open house from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. Thursday, May 16, when visitors can tour the clinic and enjoy refreshments.
