PD: Wanted fugitive found sleeping in car at Mohegan Pennsylvania

PLAINS TWP., LUZERNE COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU) — Police say they arrested a man wanted in New York after he was found sleeping in a car at Mohegan Pennsylvania.

According to the Plains Township Police Department, on Thursday around 9:00 p.m., officers were called to State Route 315 at Mohegan Pennsylvania for a man sleeping behind a wheel.

Police say the car was reported to be running and drug paraphernalia was visible. Officers said once on the scene, they identified the man as 38-year-old Johnny Uhl from New York.

Man wanted for alleged high-speed chase with police

Investigators stated the car was reported stolen and Uhl was wanted by the New York State Department of Corrections and Community Supervision.

Uhl was taken into custody and charged with being a fugitive from justice. He was taken to the Luzerne County Correctional Facility, awaiting extradition back to New York.
