PD: Teen in critical condition after being hit by vehicle in Clovis

CLOVIS, Calif. (KSEE/KGPE) – The juvenile who got hit by a vehicle Tuesday when they were crossing an intersection in Clovis as they were driving a scooter remains in critical condition, the Clovis Police Department said.

Police say on March 5 just after 3 p.m. officers responded to a collision between a car and a teenager crossing Willow Avenue at Sierra Avenue in Clovis on an electric scooter.

According to police, the investigation showed that the driver of the vehicle was preparing to make a left turn onto northbound Willow from eastbound Sierra while the teenager was westbound on Sierra approaching Willow.

The driver remained on the scene and cooperated with police.

The teenager was transported to the hospital and is still in critical condition, police said.

According to police, drugs, and alcohol are not currently suspected to be a factor.
