Pay It 4Ward: OCCC employee offers words of wisdom

OKLAHOMA CITY (KFOR) — Good, solid advice is hard to come by, but for one Oklahoma City man, wise words are his specialty.

He’s spent his entire career advising college students at Oklahoma City Community College (OCCC).

PAY IT 4WARD: Turn tragedy into victory

Ed Williams has been guiding college students through higher education for the better part of a half century.

“He loves OCCC. He’s passionate about what he does, and he’s also influenced so many students over the years,” said OCCC Director of Student Success, Stephanie Miller. “It’s just really impressive. It’s hard to keep employees that are loyal and love their job and are passionate about what they do, and so we’re so lucky to have him here.”

Williams is a treasure to hundreds of young people who look to him for advice each semester and a trusted partner to his colleagues at Oklahoma City Community College.

He’s so knowledgeable,” said OCCC Registrar Amanda Williams-Mize. “He’s so patient with students; very wise.”

Miller nominated Williams for the First Fidelity Bank Pay It Forward award

“We want to thank you for nominating. obviously, one of the most loyal employees you guys could have ever possibly had. we can’t imagine the number of students lives is affected over the years. and so for that, we want to pay it forward so that he can pay it forward,” said First Fidelity Bank’s, Jason Hawkins.
