Pay it 4Ward: Fast Food Employee Serves up Smiles
OKLAHOMA CITY (KFOR) — “It was a December, freezing cold and we were hiring out of a trailer,” says Chick-Fil-A store owner Tricia Thitthorne. “Sharon walks through that hiring trailer just larger than life. And her personality is captivating. She’s so genuine and her kindness just radiates.”
Tricia is talking about co-worker Sharon Ellington, this week’s Pay it Forward winner nominated by customer Ruth Williams.
“Ruth, we just want to thank you for nominating Sharon for this week’s Pay It Forward,” says Caitlin Melgar with First Fidelity Bank. “She absolutely embodies what we love to celebrate and honor.”
KFOR surprised Sharon inside the restaurant.

“We have a program called Pay it Forward where people are recognized for being awesome, for doing great things in their community” says News 4’s Kent Ogle. “I’m going to let Ruth tell you why.”
“Sharon you are so deserving of this. I want to Pay it Forward. I’ve got some money here for you. Put your hand out. One, two, three, four” says Ruth.
“Bless you. Oh, Wow” says Sharon. “I just, you know, I Pay for it forward, you know, in honor of my son and I also lost a brother and a sister So I just do that to help others to walk this path. And spreading a smile has always been pretty easy for me to do. And, you know, people say, Oh, I’m sorry, I’m doing a difficult order. I said, That’s the most difficult thing I face today I have no problem with that at all and I just go and take it with a smile and that’s the best way to face life and I think if more people did that it would be a better place overall.”
“She encourages me to have to be the best version of myself I can be and to love on our community and spread a little love and kindness,” says Tricia.
