PAW working to fix Wilkes-Barre water main break

WILKES-BARRE, LUZERNE COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU)— Pennsylvania American Water (PAW) is working to repair a water main break in Wilkes-Barre.

Officials said a water main below Hanover Street in Wilkes-Barre broke around 8:00 a.m. Wednesday morning.

PAW said residents in the area may have discolored or cloudy water, low water pressure, or no water at all.

Repairs are expected to be done around 4:00 p.m. this afternoon, according to PAW’s alert.

When the main is repaired, PAW says residents may experience discolored water. They say the water should go back to normal if residents use cold tap water at the lowest level of their house until the water runs clear.
