Pauley Perrette So-Long Boosts ‘NCIS,’ ‘Roseanne’ Stays Firm

Pauley Perrette’s so-long to NCIS, shot the series to a season high in total viewers, once again topping ABC’s Roseanne, and a best since season starter in the demo.

CBS’s long-running NCIS (1.6 demo rating, 14.80 million viewers) was easily Tuesday night’s most watched program, and improved demo-wise by 4/10ths from previous week.

Spring sensation Roseanne (2.5, 10.19M) ran a lap ahead of Wednesday primetime competitors in the 18-49 age bracket, to claim its sixth original episode demo win.

Wednesday night’s busy 8 PM hour also saw the season finale of Fox’s Lethal Weapon (0.8, 3.10M) inch up 1/10th, while NBC’s singing competition series The Voice (1.2, 7.20M) hung on.

Following NCIS, CBS’s season finale of Bull (1.3, 11.80M) also climbed.

At 10 PM, NBC’s Chicago Med (1.1, 5.77M) finished first among broadcasters in the demo, but was no competition for NCIS: New Orleans (0.8, 7.80M) in total viewers; ABC’s For the People (0.5, 2.0M) followed.

For all the Big 4 finales and farewells, there was a goodbye of a different nature on cable Tuesday night.
The NBA Conference Semifinals doubleheader on TNT saw current champs the Golden State Warriors beat the New Orleans Pelicans to advance to next round as the Louisiana team exited the playoffs. That game scored a 3.8 in metered market ratings and overall the two games hit a 3.5, which is even with the comparable single game of the same time last year.

CBS (1.2, 11.57M) and ABC (1.2, 4.69M) shared the demo win for the night, while CBS stood alone at top of heap in total viewers. For ABC, it marked its longest run as first-place broadcaster on Tuesday in 18 years.

NBC (1.0, 5.60) came in third in the demo and second in overall audience. Fox (0.7, 2.28M) and CW (0.5, 1.42M) followed.
