Paul Simon Hits Bum Notes with Fans During DNC Performance
After panning Paul Simon's performance on opening night of the Democratic National Convention, it looks like most attendees would have preferred the sound of silence.
Monday’s DNC kick-off inside Philadelphia’s Wells Fargo Center was supposed to be a show of unity among Hillary Clinton and Bernie Sanders supporters.

Convention organizers attempted to cater to the theme of unity as the singer took the stage at the Wells Fargo Center in Philadelphia to perform his hit "Bridge Over Troubled Water,” but it didn't go as planned.
The iconic singer was bashed on social media because many felt his performance was lackluster. Others noted that the "Kodachrome" singer appeared to look out of it.

The 74-year-old, who is currently on a summer tour — which he claims will be his last — seemed to be fatigued as he performed.
Still, some of the Simon faithful came to his defense.

The Rock and Roll Hall of Famer was introduced to the stage by Senator Al Franken, a Clinton supporter, and comedian Sarah Silverman, a longtime Sanders backer.
Franken noted that the two comedians were forming a bridge to unify the party, saying: "We're like a bridge over troubled water.”

The moment to build that symbolic bridge came right after an unscripted moment when Silverman told crowd members who booed her pitch for Hillary Clinton were "ridiculous."
"To the 'Bernie or Bust' people, you're being ridiculous," Silverman said.
In emails published by WikiLeaks Friday, staff within the DNC appeared to be biased against Sanders, whose Jewish background was even floated as a possible point of attack.
