Patton Township supervisors OK plan for new hotel near State College airport

The Patton Township supervisors approved the final land development plan for a new long-term stay hotel Wednesday night that will be located near the State College Regional Airport.

The hotel’s final land development plan was examined and approved unanimously by the supervisors, though construction is not expected to start for a few more months.

According to the Patton Township meeting agenda, the hotel construction is a part of Phase 2C of the 60-acre Nittany Valley Sports Centre Master Plan and was submitted by Penn Terra Engineering on behalf of Decibel Partners, LP. While the hotel is part of the Nittany Valley Sports Centre Master Plan, the sports center is not involved with the the project.

At the meeting, Penn Terra Project Manager and Development Plan Engineer Mark Torretti told the supervisors what features they can expect to see with the new hotel.

“What we’re looking at is a 96-room, long-term stay hotel that will be located right off of Fox Hill Road,” Torretti said.

The hotel brand is not yet known.

The hotel plan also includes a right-in/right-out entrance along Fox Hill Road, a second full access entrance along Bernel Road and a 112-space parking lot and drop-off area that includes American Disabilities Act-approved parking spaces and two bike racks located around the front and back of the property.

The final development plan also includes a sidewalk extension from the Kingston Village development, running along Bernel Road which will then be extended to Fox Hill Road. Intersection lighting and two stormwater basins along Bernel Road were also in the plan.

The hotel will be served by public water and sewer.
