Passengers unharmed after plane crashes in Vernal

VERNAL, Utah (ABC4) — Three people were uninjured after a plane crashed in Vernal on Wednesday morning.

The Vernal Police Department said they received reports of the downed plane at approximately 10:30 a.m., in the field north of the Vernal Regional Airport.

Three passengers were assessed at the scene by responding medical personnel but were released with minor injuries.

The police department said the plane was later transported and secured at the Vernal Regional Airport at the direction of the FAA and NTSB as investigations continue.

“The Vernal City Police Department would like to thank Gold Cross Ambulance Service, Vernal City Fire Department, and the local business owners that assisted with accommodations for the passengers and the securing and transporting of the aircraft,” the police department said.
