Passenger traffic up at Wichita airport in January

WICHITA, Kan. (KSNW) – Passenger traffic at Wichita’s Dwight D. Eisenhower National Airport was up 7% in January over last year.

The airport says they saw a total of 60,846 enplaned passengers, with overall arriving and departing passengers reaching 122,853.

The airport said the increase is due to new routes and flights. Recently, service has expanded to include new routes by American Airlines, connecting to Phoenix, Washington, D.C., and Miami, along with Southwest Airlines providing daily service to Las Vegas.

Food and gift revenue increased 17%, and rental and parking marked an 8% increase.
