Passenger killed in San Pasqual Valley rollover crash

SAN DIEGO (FOX 5/KUSI) — One person is dead and another was airlifted to a local hospital after a rollover crash in San Pasqual Valley Tuesday night, authorities said.

According to the San Diego Police Department, a 25-year-old man was driving a gray 1999 Chevrolet Silverado eastbound on 18000 San Pasqual Valley Road around 11:20 p.m.

The driver of the Silverado failed to maintain the curvature of the roadway, crossed over the double yellow painted lines, and went down a 50 foot embankment into a citrus orchard, SDPD explained.

A 47-year-old man, a passenger in the Silverado, was ejected during the rollover and pronounced dead at the scene, authorities said.

The driver was airlifted to a local hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
