Parts of Garrison Avenue in Fort Smith to be closed for one week

FORT SMITH, Ark. (KNWA/KFTA) — Some Fort Smith drivers could experience slowdowns next week on Garrison Avenue.

The eastbound lane on Garrison Avenue between 5th and 6th streets will be closed beginning Monday and could be closed for at least one week.

Fort Smith’s Water Utilities Department will be repairing a water distribution line leak before the city makes street repairs.

Westbound lanes on Garrison Avenue will remain open for travelers.

After the closure, detours will be available for eastbound travelers to rejoin Garrison Avenue.
