Part of US-167 in Evangeline Parish reopens after being closed due to high water

UPDATE, 5/6/24, 9:15 a.m.: DOTD has announced that this stretch of US-167 is back open.

ORIGINAL STORY: EVANGELINE PARISH, La. (KLFY) — A stretch of US-167 outside Ville Platte is closed due to flooding, according to the Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development.

DOTD announces that all lanes in both directions of US-167 from west of its junction with La. 103 to La. 748 are closed due to high water as a result of severe weather conditions. The detour route includes the following: La. 748 to La. 363 to La. 103.

No estimated time of reopening was made available.
