Be part of history in National Maritime Museum of the Gulf of Mexico’s new exhibit

MOBILE, Ala. (WKRG) — The National Maritime Museum of the Gulf of Mexico is getting ready to open a new exhibit, and museum officials say, “You have a chance to be a part of it.”

According to a Facebook post, the museum is opening a new exhibit to tell the history of the Alabama Deep Sea Fishing Rodeo.

The post said the exhibit on “the largest fishing tournament in the world” is set to open this summer. According to the ADSFR website, the tournament was founded in 1929 and attracts over 4,000 anglers and 75,000 spectators to Dauphin Island, Alabama.

With that many people going to the festival, the museum hopes you have a story to tell about the tournament.

“If you have trophies, stories, photos, and tall tales you’d like to share call us today,” the post said. “Be a part of Alabama Deep Sea Fishing Rodeo History!”
