Part of Great Bridge Blvd. in Chesapeake will be closed for months for utility work

CHESAPEAKE, Va. (WAVY) – Road work will soon begin along part of Great Bridge Boulevard in Chesapeake.

HRSD crews are installing sanitary sewer pipeline between Bainbridge Boulevard and Lincoln Road. The work is expected to begin Monday, April 22 and will continue for approximately three months.

A detour will be posted to direct drivers around the closed section of Great Bridge Boulevard.

Residents within the “road closed to thru traffic” area will continue to have access.

Truck Traffic Notice: Great Bridge Boulevard will be closed at Bainbridge Boulevard and Campostella Avenue for truck traffic. Trucks will follow the detour using Dominion Boulevard and S. Military Highway. Detour signs and Portable Message Boards will be in place for the truck route.

This work is part of the Great Bridge Boulevard Sanitary Sewer Improvements project.
