Parks and Rec: One Year Gone

It’s been just about a year since one of the greatest TV shows of all time came to a graceful end and whilst it will be missed, it ended on a high without overstaying it’s welcome.

I came to the show late, only syncing up with the rest of the world at the start of season 7, but I had become hooked when I binge-watched the show for the first time and had fallen in love with it. Like other shows, it took a while to get into but when you did, it flawed you with its humour, heart and amazing characters.

Everyone, from Ron to Leslie to Tom were all just as brilliant as each other and through seven seasons we followed their lives with rapt attention and joy. Leslie Knope is continually one of the best characters on TV and her strong female presence sets a benchmark for TV comedies.

I’m currently about to finish my first re-watch of the show and it’s been a blast, it’s warm heart and top class comedy is the perfect tonic to the cold winter nights. A year on and it’s great that I was able to see the show out when it first aired, as it’s currently fourth on my Top TV shows list, It’s certain that I’m never gonna stop loving it.
