Parkland student tells Megyn Kelly how she survived horrifying shooting

Aalayah Eastmond, a student at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in Parkland, Fla., sat down with Megyn Kelly and revealed how she survived the horrific Valentine’s Day shooting. “At first I thought it was a prank because it was Valentine’s day, and I thought it was a paintball gun because I saw red on the floor, but it was blood, and it wasn’t a prank.”

Unfortunately, everything happened so quickly, and Aalayah, as well as a few other students, weren’t able to hide, and were in plain site of the shooter, Nikolas Cruz. Aalayah explained that she could feel the bullets fly past her, and in order to save herself, she had to do the unthinkable. She was behind a boy who was killed, and “when he fell over, I followed his entire movement and I fell over with him, and then I put him on top of me.”
