Parkland Shooting Survivor Emma Gonzalez Calls Out Trump on Gun Control (Video)

Emma Gonzalez, a Marjorie Stoneman Douglas High School student who survived the shooting that took 17 lives, made an impassioned speech Saturday calling out President Trump on gun control.

“If the President wants to come up to me, and tell me to my face that it was a terrible tragedy and how it should never have happened and maintain telling us how nothing is going to be done about it, I’m going to happily ask him how much money he received from the National Rifle Association,” said Gonzalez at the gun control rally in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida.

“It doesn’t matter because I already know,” added Gonzalez. “$30 million dollars!”

Gonzalez, a senior at the school, was sitting on the floor of the auditorium Wednesday shots rang out. She and her classmates have been outspoken in their calls for stricter gun legislation in the wake of Friday’s tragedy, vowing, “We will be the last mass shooting.”

“We need to pay attention to the fact that this isn’t just a mental health issue,” she told the crowd. “He wouldn’t have been able to kill that many people with a knife.”

The crowd erupted in chants of “Shame on you!”

Nikolas Cruz, 19, who officials said is a former student at the school, has been ID’d as the suspected shooter. He was taken into custody nearby in Coral Springs. An “AR-15-style weapon” was recovered at the scene, according to CNN.
