Park Ridge police: Aggravated battery to peace officer, domestic battery, strangulation

Motor Vehicle Theft
An unknown offender stole a 2020 Chevy Malibu during the overnight hours of May 11 in the 400-500 block of Northwest Highway. The owner told police that the vehicle was unlocked, and the key fob was left in it.
Battery, Domestic Battery, Strangulation
A 53-year-old Park Ridge man was arrested for aggravated battery-strangulation on the first block of North Dee Road on May 18 at 12:47 p.m.
A 16-year-old juvenile was arrested for battery at 2601 West Dempster Street on May 14 at 2:56 p.m.
A 33-year-old Park Ridge man was arrested for domestic battery in the 600 block of West Talcott Avenue on May 19 at 5:08 a.m.
Burglary to/from Motor Vehicle
A 2019 Jeep Cherokee was ransacked in the 500-600 block of Northwest Highway while the owner was out of town from May 7 to May 11.
An unknown offender broke the driver’s side window of a 2023 Ford Transit van and removed personal property from it in the 700-800 block of Austin Avenue during the overnight hours of May 8.
An unknown offender entered a victim’s blue Subaru Outback while the owner was pumping gas at the BP gas station at 1220 West Touhy Avenue on April 21 at approximately 12:15 p.m. The offender stole the victim’s wallet.
Theft over $500
A Park Ridge Public Library patron left their gray/green NAVEE-S65 electric scooter locked to the library’s bike rack on May 12 around 2:30 p.m. When the owner returned around 6 p.m., the scooter was missing, and the lock was located but not damaged.
Resisting a Police Officer
A 24-year-old Chicago man was arrested on three counts of resisting a police officer, criminal damage to property, battery, disorderly conduct and criminal trespass to real property in the 8700 block of West Higgins Road in Chicago on May 13 at 1:42 p.m.
Aggravated Battery to Peace Officer
A 37-year-old Chicago Heights man was arrested on three counts of aggravated battery to a peace officer, aggravated DUI, DUI-Alcohol, driving on a suspended license, criminal trespass to property, illegal transportation of alcohol, operating an uninsured motor vehicle and driving without lights when required in the 1100 block of South Vine Street on May 19 at 1:53 a.m.
Retail theft
An unknown male offender and an unknown female offender stole numerous bottles of alcohol from the Walgreen’s at 800 Devon Avenue on May 14 at 8:13 a.m. The two fled the scene.
Suspended/No Driver’s License
A 25-year-old Elgin woman was arrested for driving on a suspended driver’s license near Touhy Avenue and Rusty Drive on May 13 at 1:06 a.m.
A 39-year-old Elgin man was arrested for driving on a suspended driver’s license and (lack of) seat belt usage near Potter Road and Dempster Street on May 17 at 7:53 a.m.
A 31-year-old Melbourne, Florida woman was arrested for driving an uninsured vehicle on a suspended driver’s license without valid registration near the area of Oakton Street and Dee Road on May 18 at 7:08 p.m.
A 43-year-old Chicago man was arrested for driving without a license, speeding 35+ mph over the limit, failing to secure a new registration and failing to yield to the right-of-way at an intersection in the area of Northwest Highway and Summit Avenue on May 19 at 7:56 p.m.
A 16-year-old juvenile was arrested for driving on a suspended license, not having valid registration and operating an uninsured motor vehicle near the area of Northwest Highway and Oakton on May 19 at 8:20 p.m.
Burglary
A 49-year-old Hanover Park man was arrested for burglary and identity theft at 5600 Old Orchard Road, Skokie, on May 13 at 9:57 a.m.
Warrant
A 34-year-old Zion man was arrested on a warrant and improper usage of a turn signal near the area of Devon Avenue and River Road in Des Plaines on May 19 at 3:40 p.m.
