Paris Jackson Claims She Was Never in Danger During High-Rise Ledge Stunt
Paris Jackson is trying to explain herself after disturbing video showed her dancing on the ledge of a New York City high-rise.
"People are saying that I've lost my mind and I've gone crazy," she said on Instagram Tuesday. "I apologize for freaking people out."
In the video, taken during last week's New York’s Spring Fashion Week, the only daughter of the late Michael Jackson loses her balance and nearly falls.
"I almost died," the 20-year-old said in a caption on the video.
But in her video posted to Instagram Stories Tuesday, she said that wasn't really the case.
"I wasn’t being super, super unsafe. I wasn’t being the safest but I wasn't being super, super unsafe," she said. "I lost my balance for two seconds and I leaned towards the safe side which was half a foot at that not towards other side where I could have fallen several stories to my death."
"She’s lost it," a Jackson family source told the New York Post.
After acknowledging her young fans, Paris Jackson ended the video by lighting up a cigarette and telling people to back off.
"I understand I have a young following and it's prob not a great move to walk across a ledge," she said. "Please stop making a big deal about it."
Relatives are reportedly comparing the video to a 2002 incident in which her father dangled his son, Blanket, over a hotel balcony in Berlin.
“But this is worse than that because I still think Michael had control of Blanket and they weren’t nearly as high up as Paris is in this video,” a Jackson relative told Page Six. "She’s lost it. She really has."
