Parents file a lawsuit against high school 'mean girls' who falsely accused son of sexual assault

The parents of a former Pennsylvania high school student have filed a lawsuit against the parents of five “mean girls” who allegedly falsely accused their male classmate of sexual assault.

Michael J. and Alecia Flood are the parents of a teenage boy identified as T.F. in the 27-page criminal complaint, who they say was “conspired” against by multiple teenage girls who accused him of sexual assault on two occasions, before allegedly admitting that they had lied.

According to the lawsuit, T.F. “was forced to endure multiple court appearances, detention in a juvenile facility, detention at home, the loss of his liberty, and other damages until several of the girls reluctantly admitted that their accusations were false.” The Floods are now seeking unspecified civil damages against the parents of the girls responsible, as well as the Seneca Valley School District, and the office of the Butler Country district attorney, Richard Goldinger.

As a result of the allegations, which began in July 2017, T.F.’s parents claim that their son has been bullied by classmates, to the point where they pulled him out of Seneca Valley High School for homeschooling. An example of the bullying was outlined in the lawsuit, saying that students placed masking tape on T.F.’s back that read “predator,” without his knowledge.

According to Penn Live, in a tape-recorded interview with one of the minors who accused him of a 2017 sexual assault, the student said that she made the claim because “I just don’t like him.” That same student was heard telling other students “that she would do anything to get T.F. expelled.”

Since this lawsuit was filed, it seems that other Seneca Valley High School students are coming to T.F.’s defense — although he is no longer enrolled. On Thursday, a Twitter account run by students at the school announced that they would be putting #WeStand4Flood on the back of their T-shirts for Friday night’s football game.

Photos obtained by Trib Live also show students who taped the words “Justice 4 Flood” on the back of their shirts. The hashtag has since been used by a number of students on both Twitter and Instagram.

The Seneca Valley School District did not immediately respond to Yahoo Lifestyle’s request for comment. However, a spokesperson did provide a statement to Trib Live, defending the district’s actions.

“We feel strongly the lawsuit being filed against the Seneca Valley School District is without merit. We have followed all applicable laws, and we will vigorously defend ourselves throughout the process,” the statement partially read. “The number-one priority of the Seneca Valley School District is the safety and well-being of our students, staff, parents, and volunteers who enter our buildings. We have policies and procedures in place to protect individuals, and we communicate to all employees on these policies and work hard every day to provide a safe and caring learning environment for all.”

According to the news outlet, the school has yet to be served with the lawsuit.
