Palo Alto police search for knife-wielding suspect who robbed 7-Eleven

(KRON) — Authorities are searching for an armed suspect who robbed a 7-Eleven store overnight on Friday, the Palo Alto Police Department announced in a press release. The robbery happened around 12:28 a.m. at the 7-Eleven at 708 Colorado Ave.

The suspect was holding a knife at the time of the robbery, police said. The suspect is described as a man of unknown race between 25 and 30 years old. He was wearing a gray sweatshirt with a hood on and a face mask. PAPD released a photo of the suspect (below).

Upon investigation, the suspect approached the cashier, pointed a knife at him and demanded cash from the register, the release said. The cashier complied and gave the suspect an unknown amount of cash.

The suspect then reached across the counter and took an open box of cigars worth about $45, according to PAPD.

Officers arrived at the store “shortly” after receiving the call but could not locate the suspect. Police said the suspect fled westbound through the 7-Eleven parking lot.
