Palisade apartment building goes up in flames-live from Palisade

GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. (KREX) — Around 7:15 a.m. this morning, police traffic scanners reported an explosion at the apartment building in the 900 block of Iowa Avenue. There were reports of one missing person who may have been trapped inside the building at the time of the fire, but there is no confirmation on that yet.

WesternSlopeNow has confirmed that there are reports of minor injuries and neighbors and first responders worked together to save as many animals as possible.

The structure is still unstable, but officials are working to eliminate any dangers so that they can search for anyone who may have been inside and the cause of the fire.

The Palisade Fire Department, as well as the 12 other agencies that responded to the fire, moved the victims to the community center in Palisade.
