Palin Will Not Speak at GOP Convention
Former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin, who just four years ago was a Republican vice presidential candidate, will apparently not be speaking at the Republican National Convention, CNN reports.
Palin made the announcement in a statement: "This year is a good opportunity for other voices to speak at the convention and I'm excited to hear them." It remained unclear whether Palin would be attending the convention.
Republican National Committee chairman Reince Priebus had said earlier that he hoped she would have a speaking role.
Palin is a galvanizing force among some Republicans, but she was critical of Mitt Romney during the primary. Though she has yet to officially endorse Romney, she offered strong words of support on Sunday, writing: “As I've repeatedly said, I support Mitt Romney and Paul Ryan in their efforts to replace President Obama at the ballot box, and I intend to focus on grassroots efforts to rally Independents and the GOP base to elect Senate and House members so a wise Congress is ready to work with our new President to get our country back on the right path."
