Pakistan: U.S. Drone Kills Al-Qaida No. 2
Pakistani officials said on Tuesday that a U.S. drone attack on Monday killed al-Qaida’s second in command, Abu Yahya al-Libi, the Associated Press reports.
The strike took place in Pakistan’s North Waziristan tribal area. The Taliban has refuted the claims, saying the al-Qaida leader was not in the home that was attacked, and U.S. officials have yet to confirm the kill.
Monday's attack was one of the half-dozen drone strikes the U.S. carried out in Pakistan in the last two weeks.
