'Paint For A Cause' to help Thomas

May 8—ASHLAND — A fundraiser is scheduled to help the family of an injured student-athlete.

Oli-Kade Designs is putting on a Bourbon Barrel head paint fundraiser, "Paint For A Cause," to benefit the family of Atayveon "Tay" Thomas.

Thomas, a junior at Ashland Blazer, was injured in a car accident on April 14. It paralyzed Thomas from the waist down.

According to event organizers, Cassie Menshouse, his mother, "has not left his side. ... No parent should have to worry about the financial strain of choose to be by your child through this process, and we want to help."

According to the event flyer, Paint For A Cause will take place at House of Grace at 22413 Greenup Ave. on Saturday, May 19, from 2-4 p.m.

Message Oli-Kade Designs on Facebook to reserve a seat or for more information. Cost is $75. According to the flyer, a portion of the proceeds will be donated.
