Painesville Township unveils details of St. Patrick's Day parade

Mar. 6—Painesville Township's annual St. Patrick's Day parade will roll down Mentor Avenue on March 10.

The parade will start at 3 p.m. at the Lake County Fairgrounds, 1301 Mentor Ave., and move west to Hellriegel's Inn, 1840 Mentor. Ave. It will feature an Irish pipe band, a juggler, stilt walkers, baton twirlers and other performing groups, said Township Administrator Hollie Bartone.

She added that the parade "should be about the same length" as last year, with around 50 participating trucks or groups.

Visitors should "find a spot early" on the north side of Mentor Avenue, Bartone said. Parking will be available at Hellriegel's and iSTEM, which is located at 1800 Mentor Ave.

Hellriegel's will also host a party after the parade. A Facebook post stated that it will include corned beef and music from Eric Andrews.

Bartone said that the township will post to its Facebook page if the parade is canceled for reasons including snow.
