SAN DIEGO (FOX 5/KUSI) — Baseball is back and the San Diego Padres are opening it up in style with a must-see showdown with the Los Angeles Dodgers on the other side of the Pacific Ocean.

The two-game Seoul series will kick off both teams’ 2024 season in Gocheok SkyDome — the former home field of Padres’ shortstop Ha-Seong Kim — and mark Major League Baseball’s first-ever regular play games in South Korea.

The first game is scheduled for Wednesday at 7:05 p.m. local time in Seoul, or 3:05 a.m. Pacific Time. First pitch for the second game in the series is also slated for 7:05 p.m. local time.

For the Friar Faithful who want to watch the games, here are a few things you need to know about how to enjoy the opening series from the U.S.

Where can I watch the game?

There are a few options for where baseball fans can go to watch the Seoul series: If you’re in San Diego or Los Angeles, the game will be telecast via the teams’ respective local channels, Padres.TV and SportsNet LA. A national broadcast will also be on ESPN.

Who’s pitching?

The Padres will be starting Japanese right-hander Yu Darvish in Game 1 and homegrown right-hander Joe Musgrove in Game 2. They will be facing off against Dodgers’ right-handers Tyler Glasnow and Yoshinobu Yamamoto, respectively.

Something of note: Darvish’s start is likely to be the first time he is squaring off in the big leagues against World Baseball Classic teammate Shohei Ohtani, who is making his debut with the Dodgers.

When will the first game back in San Diego be?

After the two-game Seoul series, the Padres will be traveling back to their home field for its opener against the San Francisco Giants at Petco Park on Thursday, March 28 at 1:10 p.m. It will be the first in a four-game opening series between the two NL West teams.

Before that, however, the team will play two exhibition games at the downtown stadium against the Seattle Mariners on Monday and Tuesday.
